Kathy Alliou
Paris, France
Kathy Alliou is a French, Paris-based curator and art historian. From 2013 to 2025, she was director of the museum department at the Beaux-Arts de Paris and oversaw its exhibition programme. She approached the museum as a living space within an art school, combining emerging artistic practices with transhistorical dialogues between contemporary artists and works from the museum’s collection.
With a longstanding interest in non-European art scenes and their diasporas, she was guest curator and artistic director of Asia NOW Art Fair at the Monnaie de Paris in 2021, a role she held for three consecutive editions.
Her work extends beyond exhibitions to different formats for sharing knowledge and circulating ideas, including international symposia, seminars, lectures, and performance programmes. Her writings are regularly published in exhibition catalogues.
Her curatorial practice is rooted in long-term relationships with artists, with dialogue and friendship at its core.
