Georgi Toshev is a journalist, television host, documentary filmmaker, producer and author with many years of experience in print and broadcast media. He has worked for 24 Chasa, Dnevnik, LIK, Edno, Bulgarian National Television and bTV, as well as on international media projects for BBC, RFI, ZDF and ARTE. He is widely known as the author and host of The Other Bulgaria and as the creator of the documentary series The Unknown.
Throughout his work, Toshev has consistently focused on the human stories behind public personas, as well as on memory, personal destiny and cultural processes. He is the author of numerous documentary films and a series of biographical books dedicated to prominent figures in Bulgarian culture, including Stefan Danailov, Nevena Kokanova, Tatyana Lolova, Georgi Partsalev and Naum Shopov. His approach combines journalistic observation, documentary research and long-term personal encounters with people from the worlds of cinema, theatre, music and art.
At Sofia Art Fair, Georgi Toshev brings precisely this perspective — that of a storyteller and researcher who has spent years moving between journalism, documentary cinema, literature and cultural memory, seeking the personal dimension behind major artistic and human themes.
