Held at Sofia Tech Park, the second edition of Sofia Art Fair – the largest contemporary art event in Bulgaria – will unfold under the theme IMAGINE. This is not just a motto, but a call to action: inviting artists to reimagine the language of the future, galleries to broaden the scope of visibility, and audiences to awaken their senses and immerse themselves in today’s most compelling contemporary art.

This October, Sofia Art Fair will welcome participants from twelve countries, including France, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Latvia, Romania, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain, and, of course, Bulgaria. The exhibition space will become a vibrant world of ideas expressed through painting and sculpture, objects, photography, digital media, and mixed techniques – where aesthetic beauty intersects with the major themes of our time. Among the international participants are galleries such as Artdepot Gallery from Innsbruck and KUNSToffizin.Linz from Linz, Austria; Dürst Britt & Mayhew and Ellen De Bruijne Projects from the Netherlands; Hidden Gallery and Karpuchina Gallery from Prague, Czech Republic; TOBE Gallery | TOBE Project from Budapest, Hungary; TUR from Riga, Latvia; Sandwich Gallery from Bucharest, Romania; QGallery from Baku, Azerbaijan; and Window Project from Tbilisi, Georgia. The Bulgarian presence will be particularly strong this year, with contributions from Atelier 28, DOM Concept Space, Doza Gallery, Process–Space Foundation, Gallery Bulgary, Grafikart Gallery, Intro Gallery, L.I.N.K. Gallery, Little Bird Place, Monev Contemporary, MP-STUDIO, PANAINTE, Stephan Stoyanov / ArtAgency, and Vivacom Art Hall Oborishte 5 – all based in Sofia – as well as Narativa Gallery from Veliko Tarnovo and Atelietata Collective from Plovdiv. This impressive artistic diversity reinforces Sofia Art Fair’s mission to serve not only as an art showcase, but as a cultural map of contemporary art across the region and beyond.

Check out the full list of the participating galleries and collectives and the artists they will represent here.

Once again, Sofia Art Fair will go beyond the traditional role of an exhibition, acting as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and exchange. The SAF Talks program will bring key international voices to Sofia, including directors of major institutions, curators, legal experts, and cultural professionals.

Two standout participants this year are expected to leave a lasting imprint on Sofia’s cultural landscape. The first is Kristina Kahlo – a visual artist, photographer, and great-grandniece of Frida Kahlo. Her presence at the fair is more than an artistic gesture; it is a powerful symbolic act. Kristina embodies both a familial and spiritual connection to one of the most iconic women in modern art history. From Mexico to Sofia, her work channels a visual language shaped by personal memory, emotional depth, and the bold, rebellious legacy of Frida herself.

The second is Agoria – a French multidisciplinary artist, DJ, and leading figure in the realm of digital art. Known for his deep, atmospheric soundscapes, DJ Agoria was the first visual artist to create a full-scale digital project for the Musée d’Orsay and was a featured artist at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. His participation at Sofia Art Fair brings a futuristic dimension to the program, where the boundaries between art, technology, and emotion blur in powerful and immersive ways.

One of the most innovative highlights of Sofia Art Fair 2025 is its collaborative project with the Virtual and Augmented Reality Laboratory at Sofia Tech Park, opening a new frontier in the fusion of art and technology. In a specially dedicated zone, visitors will experience an exhibition focused on VR and AR art, created by artists selected through an open call.

Sofia Art Fair 2025 is more than an art event—it is a cultural platform where Bulgarian and international artists engage with new audiences, exchange ideas, grow markets, and foster cultural diplomacy. A special children’s zone will welcome the youngest visitors, while curated tours will cater to the curious, and educational panels and talks will offer new perspectives for those passionate about artistic detail and meaning. Entry is completely free for children and young people under 18, as well as for individuals with disabilities.

The Early Bird ticket sale is open until July 17 – with special discounted prices available only until then.
