Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents QGallery – Aidan Salahova, Ramina Saadatkhan, Narmina Khalilova, and Barbara Aslamazi.

Founded in 1999 by the prestigious Azerbaijani artists Salhab Mammadov and Emin Mammadov, the gallery exclusively showcases the finest contemporary Azerbaijani art pieces. QGallery acts as a dynamic center for exhibitions, collections and commercial activities. QGallery aims to be a place of experience and inspiration through its collection, exhibitions, projects and research.

Aidan Salahova (b. 1964) is an internationally acclaimed Azerbaijani artist – with a career extending over twenty years. Salahova’s work revolves around confronting portrayals of veiled female figures which reveal contradictions of the patriarchal order.

Azerbaijani artist Ramina Saadatkhan (b. 1977) creates on her canvas an alarming, yet triumphant feast of colours, lines, and shimmering forms. Most notably, Ramina’s artworks were seen by thousands at the 59th Venice Biennale as part of Azerbaijan’s national pavilion presentation.

Narmina Khalilova (b.1972) is an Azerbaijani artist, with a profound experience in the art sphere. The classic color combination of black and white eliminates the complexities of working with multiple colors, while allowing plenty of space for limitless creative possibilities in her fragile graphic paintings.

Barbara Aslamazi (b. 1989) is a Georgian painter and teacher at The Apollon Kutateladze Tbilisi State Academy of Arts. She is actively working as a theater and film designer. For the last five years she has been working on “Norah” – a fictional character painted in a way that allows her to express herself.
