L’Union de Paris

Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Gallery L’Union de Paris and Dimitar Shopov.

Gallery L’Union de Paris was founded in 2001 by Pavlina Marinova and Emil Pungerov in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. The gallery specializes in modern and contemporary Bulgarian art. Gallery L’Union de Paris often presents exhibitions of recognizable authors, with a definite presence in the art scene in Bulgaria, but it also platforms and supports the development of young artists in the early stages of their careers.

Dimitar Shopov was born in 1980 in the city of Kardzhali, Bulgaria. In 2005, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree at AMTII – Plovdiv, and in 2007 with a master’s degree, majoring in scenography, at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia. He then worked as a scenographer at Sofia Theater and Sfumato. Shopov works in a wide range of disciplines, including visual arts, cinema, theater and literature.
