Little Bird Place
Sofia, Bulgaria
Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Little Bird Place – Nora Ampova, Lyuben Domozetski, and Alexander Lazarkov.
Little Bird Place is the only gallery in Bulgaria with a specific thematic focus on modern and contemporary art dedicated to nature, biological diversity and ecology. The gallery has embraced the challenge to step out of the conventional art space and offer different ways of exhibiting and interpreting the artworks through the participation of curators and artists, with the use of relevant audio-visual equipment, and by organising various events in a cosy ambience that extols nature’s aesthetics right at the heart of the city.
Nora Ampova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1989. The frequent travels and life changes that the author has been going through in the recent years has set the direction of the themes in her artworks. Nora shares her personal and often surreal world, in which the viewers have the opportunity to find and recognize themselves.
Lyuben Domozetski was born in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria in 1988. In 2023, he published a phototype diary with notes on the wild orchids in Bulgaria. This project was an idea of and realized thanks to the Little Bird Place gallery and is accompanied by the exhibition “Notes on Bulgarian Orchids” in the National Museum of Natural History – Sofia.
Alexander Lazarkov was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1999. From the early days of his education at the National School of Arts in Sofia, where he specialized in engraving from 2013 to 2018, to his later academic years at the National Acaemy of Arts in Sofia (2018 to 2022 – specializing in graphic art), Lazarkov consistently demonstrates his dedication to art and a commitment to enriching his artistic language.
