Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Ilinka Chergarova ft. Iskra Blagoeva & Boryana Petkova.

Ilinka Chergarova, based in Sofia, is an art manager and art dealer. She works in the sphere of cultural management and exchange, concentrating on the development and promotion of various cultural projects. Her main interests span the domains of contemporary visual arts and cultural heritage conservation and management. She is an expert in artwork restoration and identification of movable and immovable cultural artifacts and valuables.

Boryana Petkova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1985 and graduated from The National Academy of Arts in Sofia in 2011, as well as ESAD Valenciennes in France in 2015. Some of her recent exhibitions and performances include ‘No Blood Relations’, National Gallery (Sofia, 2024); ‘SIS’ with Iskra Blagoeva (Paris, 2024); ‘Mother Tongue’ (New York, 2023) and others. She has been a resident at Poush since 2020.

Iskra Blagoeva was born in 1978 in Sofia. She has a masters degree in Painting from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. In her words: “In my work I use different mediums of expression, I create paintings, objects, installations, performances. I endeavor to select the appropriate medium and materials for each particular idea.” Iskra took part in group shows in Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Slovenia, Serbia and Bulgaria. Recent works include a collaborative performance with Boryana Petkova ‘SIS’ (Paris, 2024). She participated in Vienna Contemporary, Manifesta 14 Bienal, Haus der Kunst Munich. Lives and works in Sofia.
