Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Grafikart Gallery – Emanuela Kovach, Vasil Kolev – Vassilo, Veselin Damyanov – Ves, Branko Nikolov, and Lyudmil Georgiev.
Grafikart Gallery is a space for exhibitions and events that presents focused graphic art – in the range from its classical forms to contemporary means of expression. Space for meeting
graphic lovers with established authors, but also artists, who have chosen to work with the print press for their vocation in the 21st century – seeking new ideas and plastic directions that cross the existing boundaries of this old media. The gallery is part of the association “Culture, Sports and Health ML”, founded in 2007.
Emanuela Kovach, born 1967 in Sofia, Bulgaria, graduated at the National Academy of Arts in 2003, Graphic Art Department Master’s program, and then became an assistant in the same department of the National Academy of Arts. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists, and in her active creative career she has participated in dozens of public exhibitions.
Vasil Kolev – Vasillio was born in 1979. His creative growth passed successively through the National Academy of Arts, Graphic Art Department. Afterwards he studied Painting in the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. Today he is Associate Professor PhD in the Printmaking Department at the National Academy of Arts. Over the years he has been honoured with numerous awards.
Veselin Damyanov (Ves) was born in Sliven, Bulgaria in 1977. In 2002, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, majoring in graphics. Since 2004, he has been a member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA). Veselin has held over 20 solo exhibitions and his works are included in over 160 group exhibitions, competitions and biennials, where he has been awarded with more than 70 prizes, over 15 of which are first prizes.
Branko Nikolov was born in 1956 in Tsaribrod, Serbia. He is a member of the “Graphics and illustration” department in the Union of Bulgarian Artists and is part of the Union of artists in Serbia. He is also one of the founders of the Graphic Circle group – Niš. He has held numerous solo exhibitions and projects in Bulgaria and Serbia.
Lyudmil Georgiev, born in 1962, lives and works in Sofia. He has participated in a number of international exhibitions in Italy, Germany, Austria, Poland, Serbia, Macedonia, and Japan. He is a winner of Bulgarian and foreign awards related to graphics. In 2018, he created the first gallery of its kind for graphic arts in Bulgaria – Grafikart.
