Le Papillon

Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Art Gallery Le Papillon and Atanas Hranov.

Art Gallery Le Papillon has made a remarkable contribution to the enrichment of Varna’s cultural scene, the development of the art scene and the creation of new audiences. It presents contemporary works by already established, proven modern authors, by young talents who work in different styles and techniques, but also by the works of Bulgarian classics. A priority in the selection of authors is the presentation of the most complete and qualitative image of Bulgarian art in the present.

Atanas Hranov was born in 1961 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He works in the field of plastic arts and painting, organically mixing genres with the mastery of a virtuoso. He has a perfect command of wood and uses it both in his sculptures and in his paintings. His manner is clearly recognizable not only with the vital, free and exquisite painting, but also with the bold combination of plastic solutions, often cast in bronze, silver or artistic use with another function of household items. A distinctive feature is the dominant presence of the ornament, brought to a pure sign.
