Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents +359 Gallery – Ventsislav Zankov, Elenka Nazarova, Boris Kolev B.a.i.L.a., Albena Baeva, and Stela Vasileva.

Plus 359 Gallery, founded in 2017, stages eight exhibitions every year at its main gallery space in the building of a preserved water tower in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Plus 359 Gallery exhibition plan focuses on six programs that include a curatorial practice encouraging collaboration with art practitioners across the country and around the world.

Ventsislav Zankov (1962). Graduated with a degree in Sculpture at the National Academy of Arts in Sofia in 1988. Over the years, he has been behind many initiatives and curatorial projects, including the weekly [close-up] discussion club in Hambara (2004-2008), the newspaper 39 grams (2005-2008), the Ventsislav Zankov Foundation for Contemporary Art (founded in 2009), the Ventsislav Zankov Iron Medal for Contemporary Art (founded 2010).

Elena Vasileva Nazarova (1998) is a visual artist whose work combines different visual mediums with an aim to explore and highlight the underlying humanity in different contemporary societal contexts. Since 2016, Elenka has been working as a freelance creative.

Boris Kolev / B.A.i.L.A (1970) was born in Sofia, where he graduated from the National School of Fine Arts “Iliya Petrov” in 1989 and the National Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor’s degree in “Painting” in 1996. To date, Boris Kolev has held over 40 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions.

Albena Baeva is at Bulgarian’s forefront of interactive art. She works with artificial intelligence, physical computing, creative coding, and augmented reality. Her works have been shown internationally at festivals, galleries, and museums in Europe and the USA.

Stela Vasileva (1983) lives and works in Sofia. She graduated from the “Mural Painting” specialty at the National Academy of Arts, Sofia. She won the “Gaudens B. Ruf” award for New Bulgarian art in the category of young author; First prize of the Foundation “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” (2009).
