Sofia, Bulgaria
Sofia Art Fair 2024 presents Gallery 2.0, Slav Nedev, Tsvetelina Spiridonova, and Vesselina (Selina) Saranova.
Gallery 2.0 was founded in October 2015. In its first four years, Gallery 2.0 heralds a new chapter in the world of art—a shared space embracing creativity, community, and events. It’s not just a picture gallery; it’s a versatile venue housing a coffee corner, a collaborative workspace, and a hub for gatherings, discussions, and lectures. After a few years of online and pop-up presence, since 2023, the gallery displays a more intimate space, where mostly art exhibitions and collectors events are organised.
Slav Nedev was born in 1967 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the words of the artist: “The most essential thing about a visual work of art is actually invisible.”
Tsvetelina Spiridonova was born in 1976 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In the words of the artist: “I believe that everyone has a mission in this world. I know my mission is to be an artist and a good parent and I follow it. I love the emotional and spiritual part of the process to grab the inspiration before it goes, and to develop it. In printmaking you need to have great patience. If you don’t have it – you learn to be patient. I passed through all that and now I developed my own techniques with the traditional printmaking process to the monotype – combining with drypoint needles, etchings, embossment mezzotints etc.”
Vesselina (Selina) Saranova was born in 1976 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She is currently based in Vienna, Austria. Selina Saranova has a long list of internationally renowned awards in arts and is one of the few contemporary Bulgarian artists listed in the Oxford Encyclopedia. In the words of the artist: “I would say my work embodies a particular rhythm and at the same time conveys emotion. The colour intensity of my paintings is captured by layers of contours and lines. The graphical elements energise the subject, by giving it structure and form. My goal is to explore how this interaction materialises.”
